As the holidays approach, we conclude the 10-week youth electronic music workshop at Berkshire Music School. The progress of my four young talents has been nothing short of impressive. Throughout this program, they have demonstrated remarkable growth and proficiency.
Our journey began with eager minds delving into the realm of electronic music, culminating in the creation of an original composition. Witnessing the collaborative effort that went into crafting this unique piece was truly gratifying. Each child contributed a piece of their creativity, resulting in a song that resonated with their collective musical spirit.
Beyond crafting music, our focus extended to performance techniques. It was inspiring to observe their evolution, honing their abilities to breathe life into electronic music through improvisation. The confidence and skill they gained throughout this process were palpable.
These ten weeks have been a period of intense learning and development. Each child has not only embraced new concepts but has also honed their musical abilities significantly. As this chapter comes to a close, it’s evident that they’ve unlocked new dimensions in their musical journey, laying a solid foundation for their continued growth and exploration in the realm of music. I hope to have the opportunity to teach these kids in the future!
